  As I sit here wondering what to write about I am thinking how far Avon has come.  With over 130 years of being in business Avon has certainly mastered the test of time. When I think back to my childhood I think of a very classic look for the preverbial Avon Lady.  I found a couple images online that fit the image in my head.  

  

Today we have Avon Men too.  We are Avon Independent Sales Representatives. My husband is my partner in and out of business.

Together we work as a team. We have won awards each year placing in the top 3 for District sales, sales increase & sales level . Including Top New Performer in 2015 for our 1st year and in 2016  The Spirit of Avon award!
My mom was my honorary winner of this award.

My mom was my why. The reason I joined Avon. I gave myself something to do while I waited for her treatment sessions to end. It passed the time as the hours went by. I never thought it would become such an important part of our lives. It was there to be a buffer from the battle ahead.  Even during the months to years she was fighting this ugly thing called Cancer she helped me deliver books to customers, rode with me during deliveries and all while going thru chemo to fight her protein based breast cancer. I don't remember my mom complaining much either. Maybe once or twice but that was it. No need to waste the energy on that when you can focus that same energy into the fight for life.

 We supported each other. I think this was a way for both of us to cope by having a focus. My mother taught me to never give up, always keep moving forward. And I do.

I was even chosen to receive a scholarship for the AL Academy and received an accredidation from the DSWA.
I know my mom was proud of all my accomplishments. As she told me alot more than once. She never stopped fighting, even when she knew she was about to leave us. My mom told me what she wanted me to know before she left this world. It was a time in our lives when we had never been closer. I will always treasure being lucky enough to have both of my parents in my life for as long as I have. My dad now joins me sometimes on my travels to deliver books and orders to my customers. My mom is smiling down on us.

 I am very blessed to have such an amazing & supportive husband & family.  It is not easy to find time to fit everything in. And there are times that we just can't. We  realized that we need to schedule a break for us. Us to bond as a couple outside of work and Us to connect & bond as a family. 
Avon has given us an opportunity to be able to do both.  This is a mobile business reinvented for the modern day. Yes, we still can provide a more personalized door to door delivery service. Whether that door to door service be direct ship or representative delivery is completely a choice between you and your clients.
