Thoughts For Today

I saw this contest to win all of the Avon products featured on this season's #ProjectRunway. I thought "Wow, could I do this? Can I really put myself out there like that? "
Then my thoughts drifted back to the days of not being able to make eye contact in fear that others could see through my invisible barrier walls.
I scrolled through my gallery and found a few pics of a person I know but sometimes can't recognize. It was me, a more confident and comfortable within my own skin kind of me. I chose one and then was still teetering with my thoughts. 
I was thinking , "Will anyone even recognize me in this pic? Is that really me? I can be pretty inside and out. Am I ready to keep my self worth in check and above ground when I receive little to no votes? Will others laugh at me for entering? I wish I could feel less afraid of rejection to do this." Then I realized something, this is an issue I need to face head on.
I spoke with my husband and told him I was contemplating throwing myself in the ring, so to speak. He said "Why not?" "Go ahead Hunny, just do it" So I did. 
So far I have 60 votes and was in 28th place out of 33 pages. I haven't checked today, I will wait a few more days to scroll through again and check. So this count may no longer be accurate. Now i am no where near the highest votes but I am higher in votes than I thought I would be. That, in itself, feels fantastic!

My life has been greatly impacted by both Breast Cancer & Domestic Violence. As for the latter, I know how hard it is to climb out of that trench. And it's a daily struggle once your out as well.
